Keep Up to Date with Recall Information:

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission posts the latest recalls here: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/category/household.html It is very important to keep up to date with these recalls especially if you have a family. I keep in mind to check this site at the beginning of each month.
